It's Bird...Its'a Plane! Nope its those jet lagged Perkins' coming to crash into homes near you bringing sleep and chaos!

Yes...the Perkins crew has finally hit that hard spell of Jet Lag. We have struggled with this issue before but it was long ago when the Perkins' family as we know it today did not exist. One Perkins existed alone and traveled dealt with Jet lag individually. What I mean is that we could sleep when you want to sleep. But now the Perkins have multiplied and are multiplying (yes there is fourth Perkins kicking this computer from inside my womb right now!)

Tall brown and handsome Perkins now endures Jet lag with one Sexy  and Spirited wife and one joyfully feisty Miss A and a new baby. New baby is not with us he just sits on his fetal throne and rules mommy's appetites, cravings, emotions and attitudes. Yes, a super strong, stubborn woman is being ruled by one powerful 2 pound fetus.

So moving on...All of us, have a bad case of jet lag. Little Miss A seems to suffer the worst. My poor spirited baby girl just cant stay up. When she is awake she has to be laying down on some one. she won't eat, wont jump around and climb and she would not even go after the tempting wires she usually eats where Mommy grabs her and tells her a stern NO. This is the Miss A I know...

I guess it will take time for us. We finished an 11 hour flight fom Washington DC to Oahu. We were five hours behind and ultimately needed to drive all over the island attempting ship more items to UPS. (I will have more information about UNited and their UNGODLY luggage fees YES they are UNGODLY)Finally we have arrived via a tiny jet to Kona where we will happily recover from jet lag in this wonderful condo. I think I might move in here and liver forever...

One day soon our lives will get back normal and we will all sleep when we are supposed to...at least I pray so! Of course, normal is an extremely relative concept in the Perkins family. Especially since next week we will relocate to our new home and experience an 18 hour time difference! Pray for us!

Why Souljournin'?

I will start this blog by stating why I actually don't like blogs. That makes enough sense right? I do not like blogs because I have often come upon a growing trend of arrogance and ignorance splattered across the blogosphere. Everyone is now an "expert" and can attack and tear apart straw man arguments and not have to ever confront the actual facts or the person behind the argument.
I even deleted my own blogs which seemed like the whiney rants of a prepubescent  tween something. I was disgusted with myself and my thoughts.

BUT NOW...

Leaving the US in less than week I want to document and remember these thoughts, feelings and experiences. I want to share pictures and achievements and disappointments and joyful moments and also contribute socio-political commentary. Thanks to the urging of close friends, family and my wonderful hubby, I am going to try blogging again....

So let the documentation begin less than 10 hours before making our week long journey to the island of Singapore with one tall handsome man and one feisty young toddler who we will call Miss A. Together, we will make the 10 hour flight to Hawaii and a week later make the 13 hour flight to Singapore where a new life will await. Well...more like new location.

I have no idea where this journey will end...but I know that we are not stumbling around in the dark. We are trusting in the "God who sees us" and knows our beginning and our end.

So lets get to Souljournin...
